Double Baseline
If you have taken a free trial here, chances are this was your first WOD at CrossFit Somerville. It is also an awesome benchmark to throw in every once and a while to see how you are progressing. You get two shots at this one. And whether your goal is to PR one, or both, try for all out efforts and pace so that you can beat that first time!
Also, this Saturday at 1:30pm, we will be hosting CrossFit Open WOD 12.3. This is shaping up to be an exciting season so if you haven’t had a chance to come watch try and swing by and cheer on the athletes!

“Baseline”
ohhh super exciting!!! I had to do some internet-scouring to find my previous time — 10:16 (just one round) on 11/1 with knee pushups and “standing-angled-ring-pull-ups”. I was a very sad sack 4 months ago. I distinctly remember thinking I was going to black out, and just hanging out kneeling for probably a whole minute…maybe longer. Stupid-shoulder-or-not, I’m totally stoked to kill this one. Twice.
I really REALLY want Will to decide he’s done resting his back so he can PR by just finishing. I know he’s going to kill it, too. <3 (am I a bad influence? resting is hard!)
And were any of you guys/gals in our class that night? I know we weren't alone, but I was shy for a long time. 😉
7:29 and 8:24 RX. (not convinced my last round of pullups had enough integrity, though…)
I was the slowest in my class by far – but it was really nice to finally be competing with my own benchmarks instead of those of others. 🙂
redemption.
damnit!!! Will didn’t write that, i did. forgot to log him out. 🙁
5:38 Rx. I seriously need to work on pushups because this time could have been so much better. I went all out on my first round and felt on the verge of losing consciousness for several minutes after, so did not complete the second round. I’m still pretty happy with it, considering my last baseline I never finished. I’ve been wanting revenge ever since.
also, this is WITH a possibly-still-dislocated-rib. SWEET!
Yosh just wondering if you have my initial time? I have no idea what it was. Can’t make it tomorrow either way but I’d like to try this one again sometime.
8:46 is now my Baseline, 20 mins total for WOD. Great 5:30 class today, JT and Harry! Apologies to 6:30 am class for taking so darn long with my WOD. While my speed could improve in all areas, the push-ups in particular brought my progress to a screeching halt. Finally ended up on my knees, not even getting my chest to the ground so I could just get out of there. 🙂 But anyway, feeling pumped and happy!
Worked on push presses for tomorrow’s workout, so didn’t go above 115#. Was definitely getting more comfortable stringing them together by the end.
Baseline: 4:55 and 7:20. I was completely unprepared for the second run through, but the first one was a PR. I still have plenty of room for improvement for sit-ups. They get noticeably slower after 15 or so reps. I also think I’ve finally gotten the hang of kipping pull-ups. I’m guessing work on toes to bar has helped figure out the motion.
Everyone has done an awesome job today. Way to push hard!
I don’t remember my time for the first one. Maybe 5:37? I felt real good until pull-ups, which I tried with just a blue band. Turns out they’re harder after the push presses and push-ups. I started to get light-headed as soon as I starting rowing the second time through, so my second set was about 2 minutes longer.
PR at 115# for the push presses. There’s still a big difference between my right and left shoulders, but the left one is coming along.
4:55 for the first and 6:02 for the second. The second round of rowing gassed me. yuck.
