Brian Hack | 04/02/2012 | 20

Don’t forget, guys, tonight at 7pm we are hosting a Paleo Diet info session. My good friend, Mary Fergus, will be coming in to spearhead the discussion. She studies Cell and Molecular Biology and works for Mass General Hospital studying biomarkers for cancer. She also collaborates with the Harvard Medical School and Children’s Hospital in the Vascular Biology Department.

Mary knows her shit.
I hope to see you all tonight!

    Finally! Running in a WOD!!!

Also, the post about Machu Picchu last week has me craving some chicken and plantains. Post WOD and post Paleo-chat I’ll be heading over to get my fix for any who want to join.

  2. Erin says:

Nervous for this. Havent been able to run in a long time. Can i row double?
Promise I wont boot again behind JT’s car.

  3. Marcos says:

    Running! Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite being vegetarian, I congratulate Yosh on the initiative of organizing a paleo info session. Congrats!

    damn, that plate looks good!

PJ: 175#. I’ve think finally learned to check my ego and not move up in weight until I can move the current weight with perfect (or as near to as I can get) form. 175 still has a little bit of press out.

    WOD: 12:something, :24 or :42, maybe…rx

on top of mary being ridiculously smart, she’s easily the most badass chick ever. check this blog post out from fenway and tell me you don’t immediately feel pumped and inspired: http://www.crossfitfenway.com/2012/02/29/think-of-pink-fluffy-bunnies/

push jerk: 110# PR. form is better, but i’m still working with a hybrid push press/push jerk situation.

wod: 12:55 Rx. damn wall ball slowed me down so much!

Mary is such a nice person, and so laid back…I remember being kind of stunned to realize that she is, in fact, an unstoppable force of nature!

  6. Erin says:

    Strength: #125
WOD: no running, rowing instead 12:52, no barfing.

Brian OWNED this workout, it was SO AWESOME to see. He didnt just crush the 400s he ran into the room, straight to the wall and picked up the bell/ball.
    Bravo, dude.

  7. Mandy says:

Marcos–you are a medical marvel for being a vegetarian and as insanely strong as you are. Bravo.

  8. Brian says:

Well, it’s almost as if I don’t even need to post anything now! Thanks ladies for the nice comments!!

Push Jerk: 175# (PR, largely because I don’t think I’ve push jerked before).
WOD: 9:42 Rx And yes, I did cash-out of the workout with 100 double unders. The only way to get really good at them is to do them when already fatigued.

Thanks Mary for the superb Paleo info session!

  9. Yosh says:

Everyone has been doing awesome I’m pumped to see the progressions !
