You may or may not already know, but, Copley will be leaving soon to attend Grad School in Miami. I thought it would be only fitting to throw her a going away party! So here’s the deal:
Saturday the 26th I have reserved some space at the bar. We are probably looking at 5:30pm to 7:30pm. I figured it’d be easiest not to reserve food or drink since everyone will probably want their own thing. Please RSVP by emailing me so I can give them a general headcount. Please RSVP no later than Wednesday. I will be putting reminders up each night on the blog.
Copley has been here since the start and I’m definitely sad to see her go but encouraged that she is taking on this new endeavor. It has been my absolute pleasure to have coached her as well Im sure as its been to take class with her. She has incredible tenacity and motivation each class and I’m stoked with all the progress she has made. Here’s to you, Copley!

push jerk: 200# (pr)
wod: 10 rounds @ 165#
very fun 6:30 class!
any idea what time regionals would end at?
great, really fun class this morning!
push jerk: 120# PR!
WOD: all 10 rounds at 105#. loved this.
I had found this schedule the other day when I was trying to figure out when I’d go:
http://games.crossfit.com/region/north-east/schedule
that is the most specific schedule i’ve ever seen. thanks for the info!!
Push Jerk: 175#. Could easily get it overhead, but had a tendency to push it forward instead of straight up. Looking forward to working on this some more.
WOD: 10 rounds @ 165#
Push Jerk: 155#. Failed three times at 165#, even though my 1RM from just a month ago was 175#. Not my day for Jerking.
WOD: 10 rounds @ 155#. I really liked this workout a lot.
HEYOOOOO that’s what she said.
Thanks Cal. I knew I could count on you to take my joke setup to completion.
Boob:30 was tons of fun this morning. Big congrats to Mandy on her graduation!
Push Jerk: 105# PR. Thanks to everyone for all of the great advice – I had no idea that I could lift that much weight over my head.
I only completed 5 or 6 full rounds of the WOD today, and I was doing singles. My tactic for recovering from all of the jump rope trips was to get frustrated and swear. Maybe that wasn’t the best tactic.
loved trying the push jerk for the first time. challenging but immensely satisfying when the whole sequence clicks into place. also great to know that you cannot fake this one with poor form. looking forward to the next time. 85#.
WOD: tried to do a double per 5 singles (up to 60). know i could have done more than 55# on the clean, but today was probably best in terms of focusing on better form. thanks for the encouragement!
“ugly is the new beautiful.”
jerk – 105#, not a PR but some days are like that.
WOD – 2 RX with 65#. Yes, TWO (Hillary, take note! I know you 5:30ers don’t get to see all the scores on the board, and I want you to know that you beat me!).
But those doubles were legit. So legit, that I crossed them off the goal board. Right before we started I linked 10 together for the first time…and then in minute three I linked TWENTY together! Sweet!
My other accomplishment of the evening was in the warmup. Rowing is miserable to me (I blame my height), but I focused on hard pulls and was able to do 500m in 49 pulls. I don’t know what some of the better rowers average for meters/pull, but my goal was 10m/pull and I beat it.
My remaining goals (which were for the year, but are still on the board) are full-ROM-HSPU (fall probably), BW-OHS (maybe this month!), and muscle-up (I was aiming for June, but I lost my dips). I think I need some more smaller goals so I don’t get discouraged aiming for the moon and missing.
aw, you are so nice to point that out! Yesterday I was speculating that only people with solid DUs would be recording their sheer joy at Monday’s WOD on this website. But you still beat me, as I was doing 10 DUs per round rather than 30. 🙂 Congrats on all the progress toward your goals – so rock star!
Push Jerk: 155#. I think that’s a PR, but didn’t check my book to make sure. It was my goal for the day, in any case, as I’ve been failing at overheads lately.
WOD: 10 rounds @ 155# doing singles. I did a test round while the 6pm class was doing their WOD and was totally planning to do doubles, but trying right before ours I could barely get one DU.
Push Jerk – #200, though i was told i pressed it out
WOD – 7 rounds. double unders are the death of me. i’ve been trying to only accept good double unders, where my jump is normal and not with my heels to my butt. they are almost always frustrating and limiting. i think this goal needs the most focus right now.
Bummer, I’m sorry I missed the going away party for Copley. I have been MIA due to jury duty, a left bicep injury and travel.
Best of luck Copley!
