It’s good to have passion
Frustration. When it hits you don’t want to hear anything or listen to anyone. Not even yourself. But we can’t let it beat us. When frustration and anger are harnessed well, we come back to next day and try to DESTROY anything in our path. And that’s when we have found it. Passion. I would say for the most part it almost happens inadvertently. It’s human nature to go through these emotions and when we attach them to something we enjoy, we have found motivation to keep getting better. I don’t care whether it’s CrossFit, School, Work, Relationships etc…..Passion for it is good. Real good. Makes you feel alive. Keep up the great work, everyone. And keep lighting that fire.
REMINDER: Saturday the 26th I have reserved some space at the Independent for Copley’ going away party. We are probably looking at 5:30pm to 7:30pm but when I finalize things I will let everyone know on the blog. I figured it’d be easiest not to reserve food or drink since everyone will probably want their own thing. Please RSVP by emailing me so I can give them a general headcount. Please RSVP no later than Wednesday.
Strength:
Power Snatch 3-3-3-3-3
WOD:
2 rounds
15 push press (135/95)
20 Pullups
25 box jumps (24″/20″)
30 swings (1.5/1)
35 burpees
this is an awesome picture. very god-like.
snatch: 75# only this time is was a lot less ugly than normal!
wod: holy shit this was really hard. 18:34 with 75# push press, everything else Rx. those burpees are so fantastic.
great job to both morning classes grinding this one out!
WOD: DNF (1st round of push press and box jumps before noticing my shins were swelling up like ballons). note to future Ben: do not attempt to warm up with 3 foot box jumps.
awesome job tackling that wod, 6:30 class!
um, that should be “swelling up like balloons”. Ballon…most ironic typo ever: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballon_(ballet).
AWESOME.
Snatch: 135#. Nice to see I’ve improved form since the open WOD.
WOD: 21:12 @115 push press, Rx otherwise. I think I’ve met my burpee quota for the week. Those were definitely the hardest part.
Jaime, Copley & I are going to the Open on Saturday, leaving Somerville around 9. If anyone wants to join us let me know. We’ll be back in time for Copley’s going away party at 5:30.
Have fun tonight! Can’t say that I’m super bummed to miss this WOD – looks like a killer!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think the burpees were the least offensive part of the night for me. They’re so zen in high reps.
Lynn, you do the most graceful, perfect burpees I’ve ever witnessed. I can see why they’re more zen than my roll-around-on-the-floor, grunty, sweaty, nightmare burpees.
this was a burner, even as the bastardized version i did of it at work. my favorite part though was watching people run for cover as i swung a 55# dumbell like a kettlebell.
PS: 65#
WOD: 20:51 @ 55# and blue + red bands
CRAZY HARD
Crazy AWESOME! 🙂
PS: 100#
WOD: 21:38 (I think?) @ 115# (otherwise Rx)
That second round of push presses was a lot harder than the first.
