Awesome weekend

Brian Hack | 05/27/2012 | 15

What a weekend. For those of you who had the pleasure of witnessing these awesome athletes this weekend, I hope it fired you up and provided some motivation into your own training! It was a tough weekend for all the competitors, great job guys.

A big shout out to Team CrossFit Fenway, Stacey Kroon and Pat Padget. You guys did awesome and showed some true grit. I’m proud of you guys.

Given that it’s Memorial Day, there will no strength, but a Hero WOD. It’s important to give these workouts a little more reflection as we work our asses off for all of those who have fallen before us.

WOD

“Jack”

AMRAP 20:

10 Push Press (115#)

10 Kb Swings (1.5 pd)

10 Box Jumps (24″)

Anyone else thinking of heading down to Fenway tomorrow morning for Murph and want to carpool? (is there even parking down there?)

    • Cal says:

There is larking, but the sox game starts at 1:30, so everyone would need to move their cars by 9:30…so I suggest taking the t if you can!!! It’s really close to both Fenway stop and kenmore.

      • Yosh says:

Yes!!!! By the heavens I’ve been waiting for this day to come!

I believe it is “parking”, Cal. Not larking. Are we looking for birds?

        • Cal says:

Larking is less than ideal in the city, but there is some available…still valid. But yes…I meant parking.

      • Lynn says:

very helpful information – thanks! 🙂

“Murph”: 42:23. No weight vest, Rx otherwise. In your honor.

  3. Lynn says:

“Murph” – 47:20, knee pushups & no vest.

It needs to be said that Fenway is not a scary and intimidating place. I don’t know how many other people were/are feeling this way – but I have always been intimidated when Fenway people come up to our box to workout with us because they’re all just so incredible and fit that they seem impossibly out of my league.
But, in reality, they also come in all shapes and sizes and ability levels, AND they’re just as nice and supportive and wonderful as we are!! How lucky we are to have a sister facility! I am a bit embarrassed I took this long to get over this misconception….but I am SO glad that I did. 🙂

    G’luck with Jack, night-crew. <3

Nice job Lynn! I too have felt intimidated by Fenway – illogical I know but I’m glad to hear that there’s no need to be!

as someone who was originally a “fenway guy” and now looks forward to getting his ass handed to him by Nick or Brian every morning, let me say I am very happy to hear you’ve seen the light!

    • Scrappy says:

Excellent work by all of the CFSV folks who came over to Fenway for Murph yesterday. I’m glad you found us to welcoming and not scary 🙂

Just got finished with my own hero, here at Somerville:

    “The Locals”

    20 Power Cleans (145#)

    500m Row

    20 HSPUs on Parallettes

    1000m Row

    40 Kb Swings (2pd)

    1500m Row

    80 Wallball Shots (20#)

    2000m Row

-39:18 Rx. This was literally one of the worst workout I have ever done in CrossFit.

Yosh, that is badass. That workout looks miserable.

Murph: 57:17, knee pushups, no vest. This was fun, I’m really glad I did it.

Good luck with Jack tonight, guys!
