WOD: 14:04 or so. Much harder than I expected, partially due to challenging scaling, but also due to the weather, I think. I was shaky and loopy for about an hour afterward. The heat and humidity do really make things harder.

10:02.. that was a lot of burpees! 105# for the back squats 🙂

Hey people – great work by the morning classes! Heat and humidity are crushing folks in these WODs – expect them to hit you harder, and hydrate accordingly pre- and post-WOD. Be gentle with yourself.

ALSO: I’m trying out a new comment system here on the website that lets you login with social media accounts. I can’t tell if it will do anything good for us, or just irritate people… so let me know if you like it! I don’t get any extra data collection or anything from it so basically I’m trying it to see if it makes posting more convenient for y’all.

    • equally convenient, tad more load time but not a huge deal. i created a wordpress account just so people knew who i was when i posted maybe i should go back to that so my pic returns. Although me eating ice cream at age 5 is pretty freakin adorable

  4. I may try this WOD at home in the AC at my parents who have these silly little 10 lb a kbs perfect for one armed swings… is it ok to do them one arm? wtvr im trying it.. and pinky: i will do the burpees slowly and gently …i promise. I could totally beast out that strength pinky cot and all.

HBBS: 175# (not a PR… my 5-rep PR is 185#, which I only went for 2 reps tonight)
WOD: 6:21 Rx. What a breather: it seems the point of the pushups and kettlebell swings was to make the burpees as miserable as possible.

    Good work, 6pm: we flew!

  6. Brian Hack says:

HBBS: 235#. Think that’s a PR for the high bar.
WOD: 5:21 Rx. Finished just one burpee behind Damien. Thought I might catch him, but no dice.

Haha, I thought I saw you speed up at the end and figured you’d finish right before me.

    HBBS – 105#
    WOD – 8:20
Felt good about this one – my goal was under 10 min so I was very happy to beat that! I guess the one plus of being annoyed at my boss all day was channeling that energy into the WOD!

    Nice work 6pm!

    HBBS: 245# PR
    WOD: 5:19 Rx

It’s amazing how fit the competitors in the games are. Definitely motivates me to keep pushing after watching them power through workout after workout.

Good to be back! The only thing really bothering me now is my left arm. This was a good workout to come back to.
HBBS: 185# not a PR but either at or around my previous PR. felt really good.
wod: 8:14? pushups were on my knuckles but i’m still doing them from my knees. felt surprisingly good. KB swings I did 12kg just to the shoulder with my right arm. Did 40 unbroken, felt a little easy but I’ve never tried one arm before so wasn’t sure what to expect. Burpees were slow and steady : )

    • What’s up with your arm(s)? Nice job! I need to stop complaining about a tiny broken bone.

      • will says:

Not really sure, but it hurts in a bad way to grip things or support weight with the left hand. Probably just one of those things that needs rest and it’ll be fine. I don’t blame you for being annoyed by your broken finger. It’s frustrating as hell sometimes not to be able to do the things you want to do.
