i went back and forth on how i felt about this one. i think in the end, i liked it.
6+25. I started trying to do HSPU on 10# dumbbells, but you know it’s bad when you fail 3 reps in a row in round 1. I was using 2 10# plates and an abmat, which is the slightest bit higher than normal, so next time i might stack more plates. Toes through rings unbroken and 20# med ball cleans.
I think the new comment setup is just more trouble than it’s worth – nobody likes logging in through Facebook, and sometimes it drops comments… well, it’s pretty cool when Jesse comments with his Twitter login, but ultimately I think I’ll be reverting to the old comment system this weekend.
Speaking of this weekend, “fun with pickaxes” starts at 9am, “fun with wheelbarrows and shovels” proceeds at 10am. π
the “20” in AMRAP 20 is definitely the toughest part of the WOD to psych yourself up for. for a multitude of reasons i probably wasn’t in the best shape this AM, but i’m happy that mandy witnessed my one (and only) ab-mat handstand pushup! π thanks 6:30 for the ring-spiration!!! π
3+1 Rx. Those parallette HSPUs went downhill fast. I think I’ve had my fill of them for a while.
I’m having a BBQ as sort of a house warming for my new apartment in Medford. It’s next weekend on Saturday the 4th and anyone is welcome to come. My number is 508-341-6663 if you’re interested. I’ll try and remember to post something during the day next week for anyone who might miss this.
That was a great workout–I did 7 rounds with 1 abmat so I think I’m ready to try the HSPU with dumbbells and, hopefully one day, join Damien on the parallettes; that’s the goal.

I will be there! Do you want do any blasting?!? I might know some people who are “reasonably” legit.
Nick, now you finally have a chance to shovel some dirt!

Oh, and someone asked the other day (Tim I think?) what dubstep was.
This is dubstep… real dubstep. And this is an awesome example of how to dance to dubstep.

5rds + 9
HSPUs w/2 ab mats – this was the first time I’ve successfully done HSPUs so I was pretty excited!
16# med ball cleans
This workout was legit gross. Green bands on HSPUs, been working on them but i am not there for full range of motion. Toes to rings are fuuuuuun.
Oh, also- it only took me 20 minutes! Psyched!
*high five*
I like your gravatar name, embaum. Very much like embalm π
WOD – 5 + 15 with 2 abmats, 20# med ball and something resembling toes to rings.
God this was hard. Way to work 7pm.
