    Split Jerk: 185# (PR x2)

WOD: 9:25 rx. UGH. Totally lost the kip after the first 10 or so. Extremely frustrating WOD for me. However, the 5:30am kicked some ass this morning. Awesome work.

SJ: 115#. Phew. Now if only I could hit this consistently…

WOD: 6:33 Rx. Surprising realization of how much of your core you use when you do burpees.

    Split Jerk: 90#
I’ve done 95# for 2, so this was annoying. I think I need to drink more water before the a.m. classes.

    WOD: 14:47 Rx
Around my 13th TTR, I had a big “oh shit” moment, but thanks to some major cheerleading from KP, I managed to slog through all of them. I basically said the Pledge of Allegiance in between each rep. It wasn’t pretty.

HOWEVER… this was my first week ever where I Rx’d all three WODs. So it was worth the struggle.

Matt… whatcha got this weekend? Good luck with whatever it is!

ALSO… interesting article about women and pull ups: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/10/25/why-women-cant-do-pull-ups/

For all you ladies who DO have your pull ups, read this and be proud of what a superhero you are.

For all you ladies who are still working on it, read it and feel a little better about it.

    • I love how they mention volleyball. In gym class I always HATED it. The ball came to me and that’s where it ended. I have only ONCE served the fucker over the net. But I have a lot of push up, pull up, strict press, ring dip strength so I guess my t-rexers are good for something πŸ˜‰

      this is really interesting, thanks!

also this kind of supports the theory that short people have an edge for strength werk:

“Men and women who can do [pull-ups] tend to have a combination of strength, low body fat and shorter stature.”

“This is related to an interesting phenomenon: if you compare a smaller athlete to an athlete who has the same exact build but is 30 percent bigger, the bigger athlete will be only about 20 percent stronger, even though he has to carry about 30 percent more weight.”

    Split Jerk: 175# PR
    WOD: 6:09 Rx

This was my first time doing split jerks. I like them, but I need to work on landing wider and deeper.

If anyone wants to drop out of the 6:00 and let my ass off the wait-list, I shall make ye paleo cupcakes. Or just give you a hug. Or whatever.
