HPS: 78# PR, but it took me probably 5 attempts before I got it.

WOD: 16:28 Rx. Holy HSPU. I haven’t done them in quite a while and boy did that show. Thought I’d be ok doing sets of 5 but that didn’t last long at all. Many apologies to the 5:30 for making us so late!

HPS: a really solid 55#. i felt really great about myself (PR by 10#!) until i realized i confused this with another move (snatch balance) in my notebook. hahaha. (…most decidedly not a PR, bitches.) but always great to get practice on form and also not go totally bonkers.

WOD: promise not to whine. 12:21 with best attempts on air-guitar HSPU with 1 abmat to catch the strays. i would like to try the backpack next time if it’s not too fussy.

question – is there such a thing as hand-release HSPU? 🙂 and does anyone do them?

    • Cal says:

hahaha they’re not a legitimate move like hand release push ups, but i’ve found myself doing them from time to time to try to drive more out of the bottom of my hand stand. but then you’re basically doing a headstand…and not sure that’s advised.

Try parallette HSPU, that is somewhat similar in nature but you’re working not resting when you extend past.

    HPS: 120#

    WOD: 16:46 Rx

This one was a bit tougher than anticipated. Thanks for everyone who hung around to cheer on at the end. It was definitely needed.

    Hang Power Snatch: 115# PR

    WOD: 9:23 with banded HSPUs

Thanks JT for rehabbing my ankle injury!

Anyone notice the word explosive appears in a post with a picture of a bathroom?

    Potty humor.

Anyway, as an ex-gymnast I’m disappointed I’m going to miss handstand push-up day 🙁

    Hang power snatch: 185#
    WOD: 10:14 (green/blue band HSPUs)

  7. Brian says:

    HPS: 135# a little sloppy
WOD: 15:11 or something. Got through 17 HSPU Rx and then had to switch to banded stuff. Still a big goat of mine.

  8. Olivia says:

HPS: 88#, but I feel like I muscled up that last one a bit too much. Probably more fair to say 83#

WOD: 14:55 with 2 ab mats. I remember these being a LOT easier 15 years ago…

Nice work today 5:30am. HUGE crowd compared to just Rob and I on Tuesday.
