Open Gym

Regular scheduled classes are CANCELLED this Monday, January, 21st, in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

However, I’ll be opening the gym from 11am-1pm. If you would like to come get a workout in, you’re more than welcome to join me. I will be lifting doing my own stuff, but if you want to come in and work on stuff then please do. If you need a workout, I can also provide one for you as well. No need to email me, just show up, there is no cap. More the merrier.

    Ariana, Dan and I will be doing Fight Gone Bad at 11:20 ish. They will both get there around 11 to warm up. I need to WOD and scoot back to work so we will most likely be starting the WOD right around 11:20. Join us!

    Three rounds of:
    1. Wall Balls (20#/14#)
    2. Sumo Deadlift High-pull (75#/55#)
    3. Box Jumps, 20β€³
    4. Push Press (75#/55#)
    5. Calorie Row

    In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute.The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. On call of “rotate”, the athletes must move to next station immediately for best score. One point is given for each rep, except on the rower where each calorie is one point.

      Goals accomplished:
      1) At least 10 consecutive DUs. Managed to string together 15-16 DUs a few times. New goal, 20 DUs.
      2) 200# clean and jerk. I have an easier time cleaning than jerking. I felt I could’ve gone heavier with the clean. New goal, 205#.

      WOD: “Fight Gone Bad”
      276 Rx. This one really caught me by surprise. I had an existential crisis halfway through the WOD. I wanted to break 300…oh well. Definitely go into this with a strategy. If you go all out at the start, you will burn out unless you’re Rich Froning Jr.

    This really is just a treat for members only. As much as I love newbies, this won’t really be the time for them as there won’t be any formal coaching going on. With that being said, please come and check in with me if you’re unsure of a movement that you might want to do while you’re here.
