wod: thrusters at 75#, chest to bar pull ups of death. too many rounds with one at a time, but glad i got all 7 in during the minute!

shouty to olivia, who did all (or almost all) of her rounds unbroken, then got a number of bar muscle ups. DAMN GIRL!

WOD: Completed at 115# with C2B Pull ups

Great job by the 5:30am and congrats to Olivia on the bar muscle up!

WOD: #115 with strict pulls ups with G. ban

Great job 7:30am class. Always a pleasure to see Mandy!

5:30 am people: seeking a workout buddy. Your only job as workout buddy is to know I said I would go to class, and I know that you know. I can provide this same service to someone else! I am back to my old ways of not being able to function in the morning, and this is my cry for help. No matter how great I feel after class, it is but a distant memory when the alarm goes off at 5 am…

      Dear Hillary,
Get to class or I’ll cry.
      Love,
      Coach KP

      • Hillary says:

phew… I made it to class tonight, with a coach I hadn’t seen in so long, I rhymed his named with “gosh” by mistake. oops. I hope I am now past the psychological barrier of being away from the box, and ready for more KP mornings!

      Hillary –

I will totally be your workout buddy! I’ve missed you!

I’ve been going on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Should I send you annoying text messages at 5am??

      Olivia 🙂

Sometimes it’s nice to just work on technique. I felt I made progress with my form today.

    WOD: 135# and C2B

  6. Lara says:

Yeah, I agree that taking time to work on technique, with no pressure to put on more weight, was a good thing to do. With my awesome new skillz, I’m looking forward to doing them for real next time.

    WOD: 65#, strict pull-ups with 2 Reds.

Cograts to Olivia on the muscle ups! And yes, they do count. You got both boobs over the bar, didn’t you?!

Hillary, I’d volunteer to be your workout buddy if only I came to more 5:30s. At this point I only go to a few a month on average. Getting up at 5AM blows, but I know you’ll get back into it!

Totally didn’t expect to have so much one on one coaching on skill day – what a treat! I really feel like I learned a lot about cleaning tonight. Good stuff. Thrusted 65# and used green band for CTB…. Which matched…. What a coincidence…

  8. Olivia says:

Today was fun. Did 75# and CTB pull-ups. Thanks for all the props, guys. Apparently I can do chest-to-bar pull-ups. Who knew??

And, as for the muscle-ups, I’m still not sure that a glide kip = a muscle up, but it’s been fun to work on glide kips again! If anyone’s interested, there’s a great you-tube tutorial on glide kips here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iJJHGgtcZc

Also, here’s the video I was talking about in class this morning where Annie Thorisdottir does glide kips at a expo. They look so different from the other girls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiJQ-eg2Zsk

Hope everyone weathers the storm well this weekend! 🙂
