This Sunday, February 17th, The Crash B’s are being held at Boston University’s Agganis Arena. This event is the largest indoor 2k row competition in the world. Daniel Lemus will competing and I as his Cox (coach) watching him attack his PR. If you’ve ever met this kid then you know how much of a maniac he is but more importantly, how much heart he has as well. This is a really bad-ass competition. Hope to see some of you there! This is going to be a huge event and a great experience for those of you who want to learn more about Olympic Weightlifting. I’ll be competing that day against some of the best and I plan on going H.A.M. Hope you all can make it!

DL: 150#. PR. Haven’t done this in a while, and I think if I wasn’t so sore from pistols and bears, I’d have gone further. But it’s all good.

WOD: 9:51. 95#. Red banded ring dips. Damn ring dips -_- They do leave your arms so lethargic.

Yay 5:30! & Yay Dan for competing this weekend! I wish you luck, you crazy beast!

I’ll also be at the Crash Bs on Sunday coxing for a buddy. So come out and cheer for Dave ‘POWDERKEG’ Craig in the men’s senior heavyweight! This is his first race, but he’s going to be a phenom, so this is your chance to get in on the ground floor.

    DL: 335# PR

WOD: 8:37 w/ 115# OHS from ground, 30″ box jumps

First time going in the morning in months. Nice to feel awake when I get to work. I didn’t want to aggravate my shoulder issues, so went with a lighter squat.

Nice to see new faces every once in a while. Awesome work 7:30.

I’ll be out of town but good luck Dan!! Kick butt and have fun with it! Oh and congrats on doing something that I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever in a million years be caught dead doing. SO MUCH RESPECT.

My first thought upon seeing that picture was “damn, a lot of people have signed up for voluntary torture… yikes.” Good luck with the competition Dan – that’s intense!

Strength: 225#. I think I love you, Deadlifts.

Wod: 9:31 w/ 75# OVHS & red banded ring dips. I think I hate OVHSs as much as I love DLs, if that’s even possible…

    • Olivia says:

I guess I should have said 225#, PR BITCHES!

(except it was only my 3rd time doing DLs outside of a wod, so everything’s still a PR…)

  6. Danimal says:

    Deadlift: 355# PR

WOD: 7:19 (115# OHS, and strict ring dips)
    1) I was happy to see that my OHS went unbroken
    2) I need to learn kipping ring dips

Thanks for the amazing support, everyone! I really appreciate it! CFSV <3

  7. Lydia says:

KP is the worst/BEST and bullied me into DL: 175#, a PR… by 45#. Thanks, KP!

WOD: 9:40 with 45# OHS, bench dips, and two agro box jumps. Should probably have tried to go heavier/harder with the OHS and dips, but it felt great to be back and take it a little easy after the mega DL.

Nice to have Damien show us how it’s done at 7:30 – there were a lot of PRs and great pushes at 7:30.

  8. Lara says:

Reading these posts, all I can think is God, you people are all so badass!

    DL = 175# PR, BASTARDS!!!!
WOD = 7:24 w/ 65#, ring-a-ding-dings done w/ heels on box rather than a band. That was a great scale, thanks Marileen! Wish I’d done a tad more with the OHS.

  9. Donne says:

    Love this PR marathon today!

    DL: 185#, PR … wooot!

WOD: 8:26 (45#, green band, 20″) Next time dropping to blue band.

Definitely enjoyed seeing KP stealthily increasing height for Emily to finally getting her to conquer her box jump fear … soo freaking awesome!

  10. Brian says:

    Deadlift: 355# 3 Rep PR
    WOD: 5:57 Rx.

  11. Rich says:

Deadliftage: 295# 3 rep PR. In retrospect, I should have put five more pounds on, 300 sounds so much better.
    WOD ; 7:32 Rx

  12. Renée says:

Go Dan, GO!! Yosh is right, you’re an ANIMAL!

Strength: Deadlift 175# PR – I might have had more in me. This weight felt impossible in Dec / Jan. I’m thanking my current diet!

WOD: 7:18 @ 45# with heels on boxes for ring dips. I think half a red band may have been harder. My armpits are not hurting today so I felt that maybe I should have done actual ring dips. After the WOD I banged out ten unassisted ring dips for extra credit because I felt I hadn’t challenged myself enough. I am excited for the day that OHS is no longer awkward and something “Clicks” … 45# is super light weight in any lift for me but in this one it’s close to the top of what I can manage. My form was shitty bc my knees went well past my toes to ensure I didn’t fall over backwards. This issue is not a problem in back squats or front squats. If I could get my shoulders behind my ears more in the bottom of the squat I believe my knees would be in the correct spot at the bottom. In closing: fuck you OHS you can suck my dick.
