Skills Session: Double-Unders!

JT Scott | 02/20/2013 | 8

“Killing your goats” is what we call it when we work on overcoming a movement that has had us struggling for a long time. Double-Unders are one of those classic CrossFit “goats”, and based on what I’ve seen in class it keeps a lot of your from RXing workouts that you could otherwise handle just fine!

Double-Unders are a completely different skill and metabolic challenge from single-unders, so why not come in on Saturday morning and learn how to get that goat out of your way and get more out of your WODs?

Again, Brian and Nick have worked up a syllabus with JT and will be leading an hour-long FREE session to focus on this skill. Saturday morning at 9am, just show up! We might even review last week’s kipping drills, too…

(No signup needed, doesn’t count towards your membership’s class limit.)

PERFECT. I would have Rx’d today’s workout if it hadn’t been for the g-dang double unders. Thanks!!!

Me too! But I may be getting kidnapped and brought snowboarding – Damn! I’m begging my friends to have me back by 9am on Sat, but we will see. They just don’t get it…

Thanks for taking the time Nick and Brian with this great session! Definitely taught some good drills and I diagnosed having a lazy left hand which needs work. And props to Brian for organizing the ropes!

I hope these can become a somewhat regular thing instead of just before the Open. I think there’s a real need for them.

Amos I think you’re in luck! Our goal was to continue these sessions on after the Open as well; perhaps not weekly but definitely on a regular basis. And our hope is to cover a broad range of topics related to crossfit and movement, maybe nutrition as well.

Let us know if you have any suggestions for topics that you would like to see covered (that goes for everyone)!!

Mobility could open up a new avenue of categories…. My specific interest would be mobilizing to optimize my ohs and general oh position
