Atlantic State Championships are this Sunday March 3rd at North Shore CrossFit in Danvers, MA. This is a great opportunity to come to see a live Olympic Weightlifting Sanctioned event! Ill also be competing this day, going off around 12pm. Hope to see you all there!
Olivia Peters is trying to organize a team to represent CrossFit Somerville at the Climb for Hope! The Climb for Hope is a race up 46 flights of stairs located at 1 International Place and takes place on April 28th. This stairclimb raises money for Wediko Childrenâs Services, who provide mental health services for children in the Boston area. Woke up at 6:13 and was only 3 min late for class. Packing my work clothes/laying out my cf clothes/automatic coffee maker helped me get out the door in 13 minutes. 20 burpee penalty strictly enforced đ
Hang Power Clean – 85# I still need to work on my clean form. Went for 90# but failed on #2. Great tips by Mandy today. That’s what is great about a few different coaches. I still had some pointers from Yosh a couple weeks ago that really helped me and now I have new ones from Mandy that are helping me.
WOD – 10:33 Rx … well, you be the judge I had to jump on the box to get over it. I was kind of annoyed since I have jumped OVER that box before in a parkour-style warm up that Nick ran once. I felt like I was in Mario Bros. Today I just could not channel my inner Luigi.
i know exactly how you feel! I’ve jumped over that box before in a warm-up forever ago… And I just couldn’t do it today.

HPC: 95#. I hate doing only 3 sets because I always start too light. Either way, I need to practice cleaning more at lighter weight so I make contact with my hips.
WOD: 11:00 Rx (24″). It was important to remember to row the full 500 meters and not cheat and shorten it. Ghost riding is a competition no no!

These felt great today. I’ve concluded that I prefer cleaning from the hang position than from the ground…go figure.

I have a fear of jumping OVER objects. Having to fully clear the box was a mental hurdle for me.

Hang Power Cleans: 115#. I don’t think I’m hitting my hips well either. I like these, but they never feel the same twice, so I think I’m all over the place…

hpc: 186# (yeah, I play like that). 195# x 4, really more like 4 1/2 (note to self: no reason you couldn’t have gotten 195#).
WOD: 10:31rx. I think maybe I need to start doing more crossfit…
You should do so much more crossfit. Like 10 workouts in a day. Heavy as possible. With a weight vest. That’s a challenge.
