We are hours from the first workout announcement for the 2013 CrossFit Open. Here we go again…….

DEADLIFT: 160# PR.
WOD: 15:12. (RX?) HRPU suck. suck. suck. Upper body movements are my weakness. And I realllllly considered dropping to my knees a number of times. But I didn’t. And I kept my elbows close to my side with every rep (I actually kept thinking about how Nick is so particular about that). I’m happy I follows through. Even though I couldn’t lock out a few times and had to start again.
5:30 was great. I love Crossfit baseball! We should hold game day soon ^_-
& Marcos: I really took what you said to heart. I always thought you were a crazy, unrealistic, strong person haha. I always think about time and agility; Now i’m going to think about just going for it and never giving up no matter if it takes me hours. & I know that’s where you are today because you’ve followed that mannerism. I’m happy you brought that to my attention today, especially since the opens are starting and there is no scaling and no giving up. It will teach me a good lesson and I will think of you as difficulty arises. During the open and beyond.
Not to be weird, Ariana but I was in 6:30 and saw you do your WOD. I second Marcos, you had so much heart and determination – totally inspiring girl! You were pure awesomeness!
Ariana, I was much happier cheering for you than for having finished my wod. You made my day with this post!
Deadlifts: 235# PR. Was shooting for 230#, but ended up with 235# on the bar due to poor math skills. Out of pure laziness, I just plodded ahead at the 235#. Apparently bad math=good PRs.
WOD: 7:54, rx. With an extra 2 push ups in the first round that I regretted every round afterwards (felt weird to count to 18. I got in a rhythm, counted to 20 and was like, “wait a sec…”)
My head was clearly not in the game today. Can’t add to 235, can’t count to 18… my students would LOVED to see Ms. Peters mess up all the math problems today.
Props to Ariana for beasting out those HSPUs at RX and never giving up, and props to Marcos for doing 60 burpees with me after we finished the WOD for my 100 Burpee Challenge.
Fun times today 5:30!
pre-coffee arithmetic accuracy should not be a measure of one’s math ability.
And if I drank coffee I would totally use that as my excuse… As it stands, I have no excuses. And I am a math teacher…
PS – From now until the end of my 100 burpee challenge, if I finish my wod quickly I will be doing sets of burpees until EVERYONE is done with the wod. I am posting this here so that everyone can hold me accountable! And so you guys can join me if you’d like… 🙂
The problem with math was mine….I thought we would do only 20….then you kept going and I had no option other than joining you…it was fun.
But you know, count on me to do the burpees at the end of each workout. Let’s do it!
DL: 205# PR
WOD: 8:28 Should’ve done 1pd, but will moving forward with kb squats.
Learned today KP doesn’t lie, thanks for that final PR push!!!
Major SHOUT OUT to the 6:30 PR group, you all are bad asses!
woo PR doggies!!
DL: 153# My 1 RM is 163# – based on today, I am pretty sure I can go higher now.
WOD: 11:57 with hrpu from knees, 1pd. Push-ups are soooo hard. But they look so easy when other people do them! Ariana was a complete inspiration this morning. (I am sure Marcos, Olivia and Asya would have been too – but didn’t have the luxury to see them do the WOD)
thank you 5:30 class!!
Deadlift: 360# PR
These felt good today.
WOD: 6:22 Rx (2 pd)
The x-factor was definitely the hand release pushups.
Great effort today. I saw lots of heart.
Nicho Montero is READY! hahahah i just saw the video!
Deadlift – 235# PR, these were hard and my hands are a little beat up but I am so happy to have done this today being my third day in a row at the box!
WOD – 11:44 Situps are getting easier, goblet squats with 1pd were ok, and I am still on my knees for HRPUs, all need work but I feel like I have made progress.
Also I meant to say 730AM was PR CITY this morning with MONSTER DEADLIFTS!!! So happy to have been in class with you all!
This was pretty much the reaction of the morning classes:

Excellent…
Check this one KP:

You just made my night.
DL: 185#, PR
WOD: 10:47 with some possibly fuzzy math counting.
7:30 was FULL monster deadlift awesomeness! You know it’s getting good when KP says, “I’m about to get a LOT more evil…” (and she does). Thanks, KP!
Deadlift – 275#
WOD – 11:07 RX
385# DL – 4 bills your mine next time
8:02 rx – pushups slowed it down.
Way to work 7:00
Deadlift: 185# PR baby!!
I beat my 1RM too. Thank you to everyone in 7pm for cheering me on. I got one at 185# and couldn’t pick up #2. I would have given up but everyone was looking at me expectantly and I just picked it up 3 times. Felt good man.
WOD: 8:11 Rx
Great job 7pm!
Deadlift: 365# PR!!
WOD: 8:55 Rx+ (2pd and GHD situps)
DL: 255#, Continuing to go on the lighter side of heavy to focus on form. Felt good.
WOD: 9:50 RX, thought the GB Squats would be the RLF, but it turns out HRPU were what got me.
