Climb Every Mountain

Today again we’re doing a bit of a “choose your own adventure” in the Strength portion – focusing on static hold ring stability, pushing motions, and core strength.

For those of you looking for examples of a “crossed mountain climber”, here’s a video:

For the WOD today – it’s a straightforward couplet in classic 21-15-9, with a bit of a bonus thrown in each round. Nothing fancy, but it’s certainly fun. Keep your focus on core engagement and getting your full range of motion at the bottom of your wall-ball squat, and you’ll do fine.

Strength: Ring Stability/Pushing
AMRAP 12
5 Ring Dips
2 Turkish Get-Up each side
14 Crossed Knee-To-Elbow Mountain Climbers

-OR-

AMRAP 12
30 seconds Ring Support Holds attempts
5 Push-ups
14 Knee-To-Elbow Mountain Climbers

WOD:
21-15-9
Wall Ball
KB Swings
– begin each round with 5 Burpee Box Jumps

Nice JT with SOM pic 🙂

WOD: 6:51 (Sub KB for 35# Hang Clean, Step up, 20″ Box)

Rise and grind, sweat and walk in cold rain. Love that feeling. Best way to get back in routine. Nice work 5:30!

WOD: 6:17 (1pd I think, 24″ box, and….. blue ball? I have no idea how much each ball weights)

anything’s better than the pesky burpee WOD 🙂 at least you knew with reasonable certainty when these box burpees were happening to your body…

i liked the opportunity to do ring holds in a pretty straight plank; one day i will have you, ring dippy

WOD: 8:06 @ 14# (blue ball), 16kg KB. great work 6:30. sweaty and ready.

I liked these plank ring dips! Well, not in the moment, really, but I was glad to get a better sense for what that weight in the rings feels like.

WOD: 11:44? with blue ball (oops, I thought they were lightest, but accidentally challenged myself), smallest kb, and 20′ box step ups.

So nice to be back! I told Nick that there’s nothing like CF at another box to make you appreciate your home turf and home box way of doing things.

Strength: option 1, 2 rounds of the dips, then 15s holds/15 lb Turkish getups

WOD: 7:52, 20″ box, 10lb ball, 25lb kb (I should probably go heavier but I’d really like to be able to move faster through these types of wods before I increase the weight).
