Party Time!
Fall is distinctly upon us. This can only mean one thing: it’s time for a dance party. (Seriously, look it up. That is the only logical conclusion…)
Saturday, October 5th at 6pm we will be grilling. And chilling. And playing music. And dancing! Come, join us. We will have meats to put on the grill. Bring anything else you want to grill or any other foods you want to eat and share. And BYOB.
It’s fall – Let’s party!
STR:
pulling volume training
every :30 for 15 minutes
WOD:
AMRAP 15
7 pushups
11 goblet squats
50′ waiters carry w/ same weight as squats (25’/side)

Strength: 1 or 2 pull ups each 30 secs. 2 was a little too hard, 1 was a little too easy. I went back and forth a bit with the numbers.
WOD: Whew, I thought I was over Angie until I tried to do a push up again! In the end, I managed 10+12 at 1 pood (which may have been a little too light). This was certainly all about the push ups for me – I’m surprised I eeked out 77 because they sure felt like hell!
Still getting over being sick, so today my goal was just to get through the hour without overexerting.
Strength: 2x knees to chest every 30 secs
WOD: 8 rounds even, teeensy-ass KB and 20″ box
VT: 1 pull up every :30 … if it were EMOM I would have done 3, so I also felt that 1 was pretty easy. For this reason I made it a chest to bar pull up which degraded into high shoulder to bar. Which was good! Something to shoot for – strict C2B volume training!
WOD: 9 & 13 @ 35#
I’m not sure why the Kb is not my friend. I ended up using a 35# dumbell instead. The shoulder stabilizing aspect of this was hard and is something I should work on.
I am going to try to make friends with the new 1.25. He seems kind of distant and cold and I think if I spent more time with him he would be friends with me and maybe sometime introduce me to the uber cool kid, Mr. 1.5 pood.
Strength: I started at 2 pullups but that got pretty hard pretty quick so I went to 1 after about 5 minutes. That was too easy and I found myself getting almost chest to bar on each one.
WOD: 10+10 @ 50#
I want to get kettlebell snatches down so I don’t smash my wrist on each one. For this, using the dumbbell was much safer.
Ooooh party! Fun!
VT: 1 pull up/30 secs (green band)
WOD: 10 + 2 (bench, 25# DB)
Left wrist is still wonky so no KB for me. When wrist gets better, next goal is blue band only.
Fatigued or not, always working hard 630
Volume training: changed it up every time: legless rope climbs, pull-ups, chin-ups, prisoner pull-ups, false grip ring pull-ups. Rep range varied from 1-3. What can I say? I wanted to try every variety. I felt like a baby at a topless bar.
WOD: lost count but I think 7 + 18 with 2 pd KB
Volume Training: Green Band, though toward the end I couldn’t even get head to bar, just pulled for three seconds. What a difference 15 seconds rest can make!
WOD: 10+18 with 20# dumbbell and 24″ box. Shoulda gone up on the dumbbell, because the pushups were Definitely the limiting factor (and I didn’t even DO Angie last week!).
VT: 1 pull up with Rings. Hands still healing from Angie.
WOD: 14 + 18+ 25′ with 1pood.
