Grunt work
Exercising isn’t complicated. If we can establish what moving well looks like and can make habits out of good movements patterns, then we just need to move. Move our bodies, move external loads, or both. That’s really all there is to it. Case and point: the WOD. You could get a similar stimulus helping a friend move from one apartment to another (trust me, it’s how I made a living for a while). The advantage of doing in at a gym comes in a number of ways: a controlled environment, the watchful eye of a coach and camaraderie. The WOD is all about simple and effective grunt work. Work that we get to share with a friend.

WOD: 150 burpees for Ben & Tim
In other news, holy cow I kicked up to the wall! JT was all like “brace yourself and come hang out in a headstand” and I was all like kick, now I’m on the wall.
WAIT, WUT? And then I more or less dropped myself onto my head in surprise.
PJ: 100# PR
WOD: 194 (3/4 pd for me, 1pd for Crosby, ??# SB)
Only a burpee beast would say “I love burpees” or “Man we could’ve gotten 6 more” and that is Mr. Crosby. Love that attitude, nice work partner.
Both 530 and 630 dug deep and werk it!! Nice job!
PJ: 205# PR
WOD: 215 burpees with J3ss3 (45# SB, 1.5 pd KB)
PJ: #185 ten pounds off my PR, ohh well.
WOD: 215 burpess with Mr. Lemur. woof
PJ: 125#.
WOD: 177 burpees with Bryan @ 1.5pd and 45# sandbag. This was a heavy workout for me, and probably the first workout I’ve wanted to quit in my entire crossfit career. 20 minutes felt like a year. You know the wod is tough when the burpees are the EASY part…
Correction: 1.25 pood KB
Which is still a heck of a lot of poods! Gosh, but I’m impressed by everybody that did this, it looks Rough.
