Time Priority
Most of our WODs fall into one of two categories: task priority and time priority. Â Task priority are the workouts that are “rounds for time” or just a straight chipper of work to complete. Â Time priority workouts are the AMRAPs. Â While we can achieve very similar results with both, their differences allow us to have a different approach.
Today’s WOD is time priority. Â One way or the other, it will end after 15 minutes. Â Knowing this, we can go into it challenging ourselves a bit more with both our double unders and weight on the sandbags. Â Not that consistent with your double unders, but you can get 3-5 at a time sometimes? Â Great, go for them. Â You’ll still be working hard the whole time, you just might not get through as many reps as you would otherwise. Â Not only are you still getting a great metabolic stimulus, you’re building skill at the same time. Â And then there are the sandbags… For some reason, people seem to approach these timidly when choosing how much weight to load up. Â Today is the day to push the weight. Â Besides, they’re much easier to handle when they’re more full.
