COVID update Jan 16 2022
Hi Team,
Another week, and case numbers have continued to show incredibly high rates. We’ve had a few more deaths in Somerville, and hospitalizations and ICU COVID cases in the state are still higher than they were last winter. But in good news, the “poop graph” seems to have peaked, and the case moving average may also begin falling off soon.
We know this is hard on everyone, and absent stronger requirements from the government we are all making choices the best we can – us coaches, too. JT and Nelly aren’t in a position to resume in-person group instruction yet, but Coach Michael has offered to try coaching a few group classes this week to see if there’s demand for it – and if it can be done safely.
What this means is that for most of the day, the schedule this week will be like last week – full of Solo WOD Time slots. But on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we have added a 6pm Group WOD. Coach Michael will be running y’all through a standard class with the ventilation going, and the pre-omicron rules are still in effect: masks required.
We’re hopeful that the data continues to improve, and that access to testing (rapid and PCR) improves as well. We all miss being in class with you, and if we’re lucky we’ll be back to it soon.
Hang in there,
-JTS, Nelly, Mike and Karina
