Deads and Decks

Deadlift Day! Everyone loves Deadlift Day. Let’s go for sets of 5 and try to keep those hand on the bar (and those midsections engaged). Remember, the eccentric portion of the movement builds the biggest muscle gains, so control that bar all the way to the ground and build a truly impressive posterior chain.

For the WOD, it’s a fast little 21-15-9 in the classic CrossFit style. Scale those pullups to something you can move for big sets (and enjoy the feeling of getting stronger in the shoulders after all the BMU work we’ve been doing). For the deck squats, they’re a great way to get the most out of a range of motion and a really functional movement to practice as well. If you want the extra credit, go for Pistols today instead and earn that RX+!
