Dialing In

There’s so many rowing drills we can use to dial in our rowing technique and we don’t often take the time to really sit with them, which is kind of a shame if you like high scores. If you haven’t really examined your row you’ll still be getting a great workout everytime you’re on an erg, but the actual speed/power transfer to the rower may not be as high as it could be. Today we’ll be spending some drill time to help us frame our approach the rowers.

In the WOD, we definitely want to build that clean up nice and high, but in the end the reason we’re throwing that bar up to our shoulders a few times is to prepare for getting it up there in that last 5 minutes, where we try for the biggest thruster we can finish in that limited time. You’ll be gassed, but hopefully also warm, loose, and ready to launch a big thruster PR!
