Functional Crawling

If you’ve ever been in my classes you know that I love crawling. Basically every warmup has some kind of crawling in it. It’s underrated and highly functional! If you’re ever looking for something awful to do in a Travel WOD when you’re on the road, I highly recommend reverse bear crawls up a hill be part of it.

There’s just so many ways to add fun variety to your basic crawl, and almost all of them increase the demand for full body engagement and midline stability. Today we’re using a kettlebell to mix things up and put a little something extra into your crawl – the need to bring along a heavy weight with you. Functional crawling, as it were.

WOD:
400m Run

15 Air Squats
25′ Kettlebell Bear Crawl
then
400m Run
