Going Heavy

It’s not uncommon for CrossFitters to get a bit too fond of the lungburnt exhaustion after a WOD and perhaps neglect the less obviously high-intensity benefits of lifting heavy for the sake of getting stronger. That’s not to say that the usual metcon won’t help you get stronger! It absolutely will, especially early in your journey. But when you’re looking to get seriously stronger, there’s no substitute for spending some solid time lifting big iron.

We’re not trying to turn everyone into Strongman competitors, but we are aiming to make you as resilient and effective as possible – and so, today we’ll spend our time getting focused and lifting big. As the man said, “Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general.”
