Amanda

Usually the named workouts in CrossFit fall into a pretty predictable pattern: WODs with traditionally women’s names are benchmark workouts, while WODs with traditionally male names are “Hero WODs” dedicated to (mostly) U.S. American military personnel who were killed in action.

Amanda is an exception. Amanda “Guns” Miller was an iconic personality in early CrossFit competition. Less than a year after competing in the 2009 CrossFit Games she was dead from cancer. Her workout is the first time a WOD was dedicated to a Games athlete.

You can read more about Amanda Miller the person – and also about the workout – at this cool blog post from BTWB: https://btwb.blog/2016/09/08/amanda-the-woman-the-wod/
