And it feels so good….

Hello friends!

It’s been soooo long since we’ve opened the garage doors and spent time with you all! We did just that this weekend for the first time since March 2020 for a super fun lifting refresher course and it was glorious. Thanks to those who attended!! We’re so excited to finally be back!

We’ll be rolling out classes in a phased approach and I’m as thrilled to be writing the first WOD specific blog post of 2021 as I was to coach many of you today!! If you joined us this weekend you’ll be ready for Monday’s work. Either way, JT is beyond excited to coach you all though this one!!

We’ll be deadlifting for strength (descending reps). This should give you the opportunity to warm up and get “heavy”. And a note on this point: Everyone is coming into this from a slightly different position. Some of us have been able to do some physical activity but perhaps haven’t had access to weights, some of us have participated in clubhouse fitness but perhaps don’t feel great about our movement patterns, some of us have been sitting in our “offices” for a million hours a day and some of us might feel pretty strong. Either way, be aware of how you’re feeling and recognize it’s okay to ease back in. Regardless of what we’ve been doing during the pandemic – we’re all basically starting over. So come in and do your best!!

For the WOD, we’ll be carrying the deadlift through and adding the barfacing burpee. Who doesn’t love a good burpee followed by a hop over the barbell. It’ll be over quickly! And you’ll be so thrilled to be back in the room with your CFSV family you won’t even notice!

    Is it possible to get emotional after reuniting with an honest-to-goodness barbell after so much time apart?

    Feels so good to ease back into everything. Thank you so much for the space and time to sort through all the changes—mental and physical—since the CFSV fam were last together in the box.

    I’ll be back in person starting in July, but I just wanted to pop in and say how excited I am to see the blog happening and people doing wods and everything. Miss you folks, and looking forward to seeing you again soon!
