All The Retests!

Retest week is in full swing and we’re so excited to see all those PRs on the board! You guys have been working hard and it shows. But remember, as JT said earlier this week, don’t get discouraged if you’re having an off day. It happens to all of us. Come back and try again! We’re all working on getting better every day.

And today we get to see how far we’ve come with the strict press and the 2k row. Take some time to build up to your previous 1 RM strict press but be sure to leave several minutes to increase from there. Remember keep everything squeezed and move that bar straight up and down – no help from the legs today. This is pure strict strength.

After that, you’ll hop on a rower and apply some of the techniques you’ve learned to trying to beat your score from the beginning of the cycle or perhaps your goal is simply to row this 2k with improved mechanics. Either way, get in here and get after it!!

    Str: 137# (vs. 130# on the original test here http://crossfitsomerville.com/2020/01/06/test-day-2/ ), PR

    WoD: 6:53.8 vs. 6:58.5 last time, so almost 5 seconds improvement, felt good about this, and pretty sure it’s my PR (at least since I started keeping track).

    Str new/old: 105/95
    WOD new/old: 7:26.1 / 7:50.5
    I did a much better job at keeping my pace consistent throughout but really struggled to build up to a sprint at the end.
