Big Jumps

By now you surely know that the key to a huge squat clean – or indeed, almost all athletic capacity – is having a big jump. The Push Jerk is no exception: we’re using a huge jump to launch the bar off our shoulders and make it weightless as we drop underneath it to lock it out overhead.

The theme of needing Big Jumps doesn’t end there, though. We’ll need Big Jumps for the sizable Clean and Jerks in this WOD, and our Burpee Box Jump Overs are on a higher-than-usual box too! Now, we coaches want you to be careful and mindful in these jumps. Take your time, and don’t be shy about using a foam box if you are worried about that jump slipping a bit over 5 rounds of effort. It’s only 25 box jumps today, but they’re big – and none of us want you to miss one.
